Consequence

I WAS CONTACTED IN FEBRUARY OF 2019 BY THE ONLINE MUSIC MAGAZINE CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND FOR A LOGO / LOGOTYPE REBRAND. THEY WERE EXPANDING THEIR OFFERINGS BEYOND THE REALM OF MUSIC INTO FILM AND OTHER MEDIA AND WANTED A “CONSEQUENCE” LOGO / LOGOTYPE THAT COULD BE USED FOR EACH OF THESE NEW UNIQUE OUTLETS. MY APPROACH WAS TO FOCUS ON THE MIDDLE LETTER “Q” AND BUILD EVERYTHING ELSE AROUND THAT. THE MAIN LOGO IS DESIGNED LIKE A “Q” WHERE NEGATIVE SPACE REPLACES THE LITTLE LEG. I CREATED A CIRCULAR GRID OF VARYING LINE LENGTHS TO COMMUNICATE THE IDEA OF BARS OF DATA, A MUSICAL EQ, ETC. FOR THE LOGOTYPE THIS REVAMPED “Q” WOULD APPEAR AS A STYLIZED FOCAL POINT FOR THE DESIGN. I THEN CREATED A TYPESTYLE WITH A VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL SYMMETRY TO CREATE A CLEAN / CLINICAL VIBE THAT KEEPS THE EMPHASIS ON THE “Q”.
